Cheers to Gel's 21st year!

Dear Gel,

Today's a time to celebrate...
As we remember and reflect
on the day God gave you to the world -
the 5th of September
year of our Lord nineteen hundred and eighty-six

Your parents would probably say
"You grew up so fast...
into the lady you are now."
Their little angel has grown wings
And excitedly flown away...
To try new things
and experience what this life
has to offer.
One we hope
you are enjoying right now.

Such an amazing lady you are!
With your energy,
your wit,
your beauty,
your smile,
your grace,
your love.

Your friends would have
a lot of things to say about you...
Your kindness
and determination,
the passion and spirit.
That you are not merely
another pretty face,
but one with a sharp wit,
pride and courage to boot.

Your favorite niece would say,
"You are the best 'tita' in the world!"
...when little Sophie finally learns
the joys of being able
to talk with her elders.

Your ate would say...
how wonderful a sister you are!
So caring and thoughtful,
though you might argue
and quarrel at times...
especially with your stubborn streak
as when you insist on being with men
she deems unworthy of you.

As for me,
enough has been said
of what makes you special
in our eyes.

I am simply thankful
our paths crossed...
Somewhere along the corridors
of historic Palma Hall,
in a distinct third world university
by the name of UP Diliman,
which we now proudly call,
our alma mater.

College went by in a breeze...
Permeated with human drama,
of laughter, learning and tears...
As we pondered on
the ills besetting our society,
of theories and philosophers
we grew to admire,
worship,
even hate.

And though some misfortune
had to happen
to friendships we both treasure...
There were lessons
we had to learn
(yes, the hard way),
bitter pills we had to swallow...
For us to become
better persons.

I am glad through all those
we went through in college,
it has made us closer,
stronger,
more resolute.
And now, I am proud to call you
a sister-in-arms,
a fellow sociologist,
my 'friend.'

Best regards,
on your 21st birthday!

Naalala mo pa ba?

Madaling-araw Na Lyrics (Gary Granada)

Nahihimlay, nahihimbing
At nananaginip ng nag-iisa

Walang nagsusulat dahil walang nagbabasa
Walang bumabagsak dahil walang pumapasa

Kabuluhan.

para sa....

para sa babaeng di daw nalalasing (ayon sa kanya!! hehehehe).....

hapi,hapi,hapi,hapi,hapi,hapi,hapi

hapi,hapi,hapi,hapi,hapi,hapi,hapi

hapi,hapi,hapi,hapi,hapi,hapi,hapi

beertdi!!!!

When you part from your friend, you grieve not;
For that which you love most in him
may be clearer in his absence,
as the mountain to the climber is clearer from the plain.

Surprise!!! haha.. Happy birthday Gel!!
Ayan binati na kita baka kasi makalimutan ko sabihin sa ending.. :)

There's so much to say about this angelic-looking-trying-not-to-be-called-a-hottie-lady over here. Sa dami ng pinagsamahan namin, I dont know which one to highlight.

All I know is that, she's young, she has the body, and the night is free!!oops! haha..

But seriously speaking, she's one hell of a treasure that everyone would like to keep.
She keeps you motivated whenever you say you cant continue anymore..

She opens your eyes to the realities of the world (I learned it the hard way though)

She makes you feel free 'cause she holds no stereotypes in her mind and lets you act carefree [ask someone who has the "kaharian" and he'll probably say yes..:)]

She is a listener so its easy to confide to her..

She likes itlog na maalat and can eat them in 3 consecutive meals..

She can be a martyr when it comes to romantic and domestic relationships..

She likes to think things (sometimes overthink things) and analyze them..

and she definitely knows her rights. No one can step over her. Even the guy who can pin her down can never ever step over her..

LOVE YOU GEL!!!

Not your typical 'anGEL'

There's something about Gel that people can't help but notice...
Is it her dimpled smile?
The expressive eyes?
The grace with which she moves when she dances?
Perhaps it's all that. And more.
This young lady strikes one as a fascinating specimen of the female half of the species.
An interesting mix of contradictions...
Alluring yet at the same time wide-eyed as any child!
Hmm...
I dare say the innocence ends with the large, expressive eyes!
Hahahaha!
She loves fully and with utter abandon.
Yet with her calculating mind,
Cold logic never escapes her long.
Always weighing the pros and cons,
risks and opportunities...
costs and benefits...
She is a brat.
Who transforms into a caring friend, daughter, sister and aunt when the occasion arises.
She claims to be simple, but is she really?
Okay so she's not high maintenance but hey, there's no denying this lady's used to the good life...
Life's simple joys are something she appreciates immensely.
But then again, she's not one to miss the excitement of the extreme.
Flushed with excitement and that enviable kind of "high," Gel is a site to behold.
At her happiest, the smile is deeper, more ecstatic; the laughter more bubbly; the movement more carefree.
True, she would probably be satisfied as a homemaker doting on hubby and the kids...
But it seems she has yet to find the man to settle down with.
Not that she lacks male company...
What women would do to have that sex appeal!
But no, Gel would have none of that.
She'd rather have RESPECT anytime.
And yes, this is something she earns with her brand of leadership and quality of work.
Be it in her academics, work for Praxis, co-curricular activities...
Gel is bound to excel in the things she is passionate about.
And there are a lot of those.
